About Morgan Overholt
I have 20 years of professional experience in graphic design and sales and am a self-described small business evangelist.
After spending the first 15 years of my career in corporate settings, in 2017, I decided to take the leap and turn my then part-time freelance side hustle into a full-time business.
In the years that followed, my solo freelance act blossomed into a small design agency, Morgan Media LLC. And opportunities to tell my story and share my advice with other would-be freelancers – as you’ve likely read about in Business Insider – began to arise.
Today, Morgan Media LLC continues to serve graphic design clients with concierge-level service. In addition to being actively involved with our agency, I also coach other freelancers via my courses and private consults and own and operate four blogs: TheSmokies.com (a travel blog based in Tennessee), HeyOrlando.com (a travel blog based in Orlando), MiamiTake.com (a travel blog based in Miami) and MorganOverholt.com.
“I’ve worked with various freelancers here and I’ve never had as good of a relationship as I’ve had with Morgan. She is the golden standard in my book. Great communication. Always meets deadlines. Helps to solve problems with creative solutions. Always a positive attitude. Anticipates needs and advises on options. Incredibly talented.

How I got started on this path
My love of business and design is the accidental product of an East Tennessee childhood spent hogging the family LAN line while I worked on my Homestead (similar to GeoCities) Harry Potter fan site.
I vividly remember my parents complaining about the fact that I spent too much time on the internet.
But little did any of us know at the time I was teaching myself valuable skills about design and business that would become the launch pad for my career.
My four main areas of focus
My Design Agency
Morgan Media LLC is a small design agency serving clients all over North America with graphic design needs.
Our services include logos, illustrations, branding, business cards, letterhead, flyers, posters, packaging, brochures, photo manipulation, infographics, e-books, white papers, slick sheets, proposals, slide decks, pitch decks, social media art, e-mail templates, billboards, conference displays and more!
Upwork Freelance
I also freelance on a site called Upwork – the world’s largest online talent marketplace. Upwork has proven to be an incredible place to connect with clients who are in need of my or my agency’s talents.
I joined Upwork in the Spring of 2017. To date, I’ve earned over $600,000 on this platform and maintain Top-Rated Plus and Expert Vetted designations with a 100% Job Success Score.

Blogging
In 2019, I submitted an article to Business Insider about my freelance journey on a whim. They not only published the article but asked me to be a regular contributor. Since then, I’ve found myself “bit” by the “blogging bug.”
Today, write for a variety of publications including Business Insider, Medium and Collective as well as my own blogs: TheSmokies.com, HeyOrlando.com, MiamiTake.com and MorganOverholt.com.
